Adrienne has had
a love of the bush ever since working for almost three years
as a governess on a sheep station in outback New South Wales.
The ‘fifties’ era
was a time of plenty on the land, when wool was bringing in
a ‘pound a pound’.
In 1956 Adrienne
and a girlfriend started out on a working tour of Australia,
hoping to attend the Olympic Games in Melbourne, then the
Davis Cup in Adelaide to see the famous duo, Ken Rosewall
and Lew Hoad.
Writing has always
been of interest to Adrienne and she won school prizes for
her literary efforts when growing up in Sydney. The author
also has a business called Nostalgia
Tasmania, designing and producing counted cross-stitch
kits of historic homes and places around Tasmania.
Adrienne never
did get to see the Games or the Davis Cup. She now lives in
Hobart and has three children and three grandsons
Tumbling
Tommy is her first published story.
