“As
she was writing this book Sue knew she had terminal
cancer, and she discusses her approaching death in a
moving
way. ‘Death is the shrugging off, the unshackling,
freeing of the spirit from its now irrelevant self ’,
she writes – but this is the hardest lesson to
learn. She talks of her family, and the strong bonds
between family members, the closeness to her husband
and children, are clear. This book will be wonderful
for
them, but we can all enjoy and learn from it. Thanks
to Sue Atkins for her generosity in sharing her life
with
us all.”
