Richard was born
in London in 1950, and migrated to Australia in 1973 as the
last of the ten-pound-poms.
He barely escaped
being shot while hitchhiking in America, came close to dying
of heat exhaustion in Indonesia, was not quite blown away
by a cyclone in Port Hedland, nearly drowned in a cave Thailand,
only just avoided freezing to death in Canada – and experienced
the astronomically improbable event of almost getting hit
by NASA’s Skylab when it fell out of orbit and crashed in
the remote desert of Western Australia.
Richard has worked
for many years as a freelance journalist and has written several
non-fiction books, and is rumoured to be related to Nelson.
Oswald’s
Last Stand is his first full-length novel. Richard currently
lives in Hobart, Tasmania, with a mortgage, a teenage car,
and an elderly computer. .
